The CN-M8100 chain is specially designed for the XT M8100 and Ultegra 8100 chainrings and cassettes. The chain harmonises perfectly with the Dynamic Chain Engagement+ (DCE+) Narrow-Wide tooth profiles of the new Deore XT chainrings thanks to the millings on the inside of the link plates. The design results in a tighter fit of the chain on the teeth. Vibrations are avoided and the smoother running of the chain is not only noticeable when pedaling, but is also expressed acoustically through a quieter drive. Thanks to a new chromed surface in combination with the proven SIL-TEC coating, the service life of the chain could be kept at the level of the M8000 chain, despite the smaller outer width.
NOTE: The CN-M8100 chain is recommended by Shimano for use with Deore XT M8100 12-speed and Ultegra 12-speed drivetrains only.
